Seattle’s Media Future, the Freelance Sausage Factory, and Beast Mode Goes Hollywood
It’s Local News Day, and Jane is digging into Seattle's evolving media landscape. Annika Anand, who is helping to build the Washington State News Alliance, joins to discuss how media outlets are adapting to this moment in our information ecosystem as well as collaborative approaches to supporting local journalism across the state. Then, contributor Chase Hutchinson and producer Sam share insights from the freelance journalism sausage factory, discussing how independent reporters fill crucial gaps in arts, culture, and community coverage. And finally, Chase shares some of that arts coverage: from a conversation with local meme artist Sunday Nobody (Dadaism is so back) to an interview with football player turned actor Marshawn Lynch on his role in Euphoria.
